The ALMOST Perfect Visit

Joanne and Deb, Island View Beach

More Than One Side To Every Story

The First Ten Minutes of Joanne’s Visit to The Island

Joanne“Can I feel your leg and your pants?”

Me:  “Sure.”  I am meeting Joanne for the first time In Real Life.

A bold, yet reasonable request.

Am I surprised?

After all, the name of Joanne’s blog is titled “Following a Bold Plan.”

Joanne and Deb, Island View Beach

Deb (Widow Badass):  Rolls up the hem of her skirt.  She begins to walk through a deep puddle of water to get to another part of Island View Beach.

I yell out:  “The tide is coming in!  You will be stranded on the other side swimming for your life!  Not a good way to begin your vacation.”

The giggling starts.

Our In Real Life adventure has begun.

Same Day In Victoria

Joanne arrives early Monday morning.  Deb picks her up from the airport and the three of us meet at Island View Beach. We explore the beach, head downtown to The Breakwater, and have a late lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf.

When Things Go Wrong

18,000 steps later, we are hot, tired and ready to return to my house for some Prosecco.

Since we drove in separate vehicles, we agree to meet at my house in fifteen minutes.

1 1/2 hours later, I am still hunting for my cell phone.

  • Not in my knapsack.
  • Not in my car.
  • Not on the ground beside my car.
  • A kind couple nearby allows me to use their phone. I phone my husband and I leave a message on his voice mail:

“I am hunting for my lost phone. Joanne and Deb will be arriving at our house in fifteen minutes.  They are expecting Prosecco and snacks.”

  • I walk part of the way back downtown on the route we had taken.  No luck.
  • I drive back to Fisherman’s Wharf and I manage to find a parking spot.
  • The security guards recommend I go to each of the food vendors in the area and ask whether anyone has turned in a phone.
  • I check the bathrooms.
  • I check around the table we sat at to have our lunch.
June, 2020

I Almost Went Dumpster Diving at Fisherman’s Wharf

A lightbulb moment ‘I volunteered to clean up our lunch garbage and dispose of it in the large dumpster at Fisherman’s Wharf.’

A) I will borrow someone’s phone to call my number and listen for vibration sounds coming from the dumpster?

B) Do I just jump into the bin and hope for the best?

All’s Well That Ends Well

  • The Dumpster Diving was a genuine, desperate, fleeting thought.
  • Not a good idea in COVID times.
  • Not a good idea at any time.
  • After 1 1/2 hours of searching and help from many strangers, I enter the ‘acceptance’ stage of losing my phone.

              I drive home.

At home:  I am greeted by Joanne, Deb, Chuck, Prosecco, Snacks, My Cell Phone

               And, lots of giggles.

(The Other Side of the Story on how my phone was found is in “Behind the Scenery” at the end of this post)

“It Is All Doable.  Even a Three-Year-Old Can Hike These Trails”

Joanne, The Intrepid Explorer

Monday Night

We are planning footwear and food for tomorrow’s hike.

Joanne, Deb, Donna (Retirement Reflections)“What kind of trails can we expect?”

Me: “It is all doable.”

These polite, kind wordsmiths would like more of a description.

Me again:  “It is all VERY doable.  Even a three-year-old can walk the trails.”

               This time, tired giggles.

We all need to say goodnight and rest up for the day ahead.

Note to self

  • In retrospect, I had to chase after some three-year-olds on these trails.
  • I also had to carry them back up the hills.
  • I need to come up with a better description than doable for next time.

Yay!  “Next time.”  I am already counting on a future visit.

The Following Day:  Why Hike The Juan de Fuca Marine Trail?

  • Diverse trails take you through a beautiful rain forest.
  • Breathtaking scenery on the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
  • Whales close to shore, seals, sea lions, bears, deer and many other wild life.
  • Infinite exploring of tidal pools, rocks, logs, driftwood.
  • Waterfalls.

Why Visit Hornby Island?

Stunning scenery. Beautiful beaches. Tranquil. Laid back lifestyle.

Leaving from Victoria for a day trip on Hornby Island makes for a very long day.

All worth it!  Joanne, Deb, Donna, Ann and I had a blast!

Should You Meet Virtual Blogging Friends In Real Life?

  • I enjoy visiting my virtual world.
  • My real world carries a lot more weight.
  • It is where life is truly lived.
  • I know where my priorities lie.

It is the time I spend with family and friends that gives me the greatest satisfaction.

  • My cup fills.
  • My heart overflows.

If you want Skookum adventures, great conversation, fun and laughter, I highly encourage you to meet your virtual blogging friends in real life.

Joanne says it well.  You will find a  “A family of friends.

A place I belong.

Safety Concerns Were Not Taken Lightly

  • All of the present concerns with COVID-19 were not taken lightly.
  • Our activities were all outdoors, maintaining social distancing and we wore masks when it was difficult to maintain the distance.
  • I am aware how life is changing daily.

This special week in August was a window of opportunity for us.

Girls, and Guy Just Wanna Have Fun

Shout Out To My Husband, Chuck

  • Making the awesome sandwiches for our hike.
  • Patiently listening to me about how excited I am about our Skookum adventures.
  • I honestly appreciate you by my side.
  • You are not an honourable mention.

        You are my Numero Uno!

How Did My Lost Cell Phone Get To My House?

  • Joanne, Deb and I walk back from Fisherman’s Wharf to Deb’s car parked by the Breakwater.
  • So far, 18,000 steps for the day.  Everyone is hot and tired.
  • Deb kindly offers to drive me to where my car is parked.  At least another ten minute walk for me.
  • Deb and Joanne head to my house and we plan to meet in fifteen minutes.
  • On the way to my house, Deb and Joanne notice I have left my cell phone on the dashboard of Deb’s car.

‘Should we drive back to the Breakwater and try to find Erica?’

  • They cannot reach me by phone.  I do not have my cell phone on me.

Should Joanne and Deb answer my cell phone when it continues to vibrate?

  • Joanne and Deb are puzzled:  ‘Why does Erica get so many out of town phone calls?’

They might as well relax at my house,

A visit with Chuck and a nice cold glass of Prosecco.

  • 1 1/2 hours later I arrive home and I hear laughter in the back yard.
  • Whew!  I see my cell phone on the table.

Then, I almost pee myself laughing.

All’s Well That Ends Well.

Have you had the privilege of meeting blogging friends in real life?

    1. Hi Ann, I do have the find your phone app, and I was planning to see whether I could access information at home. My best bet at the time, was to go on an immediate hunt. I felt if I left it too long, I may never have a chance of finding it. I was told it is not unusual for items to go missing in areas like Fisherman’s Wharf. (Pilfered). I was very moved by the number of people, many of them tourists, who tried to help me everywhere I went. They were all trying to phone my cell. Ergo, the out of town numbers registered on my phone. Thank you for being a wonderful Hornby Hostess!

  1. You ladies are soooo much fun. I am jealous not to be close by, so I will have to be satisfied with a virtual journey. Thanks a bunch.

  2. Oh Erica – what a great time you all had – blogging friends are the BEST friends (besides husbands of course). So glad you all enjoyed yourselves so much and I’m sure there will be many, many more meet ups.

I’ve caught up with a few of my fellow bloggers and am always surprised at how quickly the familiarity sets in – it’s like I’ve known them forever instead of meeting for the first time. And you’ve got to love Zoom as the next best thing to IRL meetings xxx

    1. Hi Leanne, I have been enjoying my catch-up reading and I just finished reading Sam’s, Loving the Fifty Something interview with you. I appreciate learning more about you. You are an inspiration!❤️

You say it well, how quickly the familiarity sets in. We were quickly at ease with each other, chatting up a storm. And, I am totally with you, Zoom as the next best thing. Enjoy your weekend with your granddaughters! xx

    1. Hi Sam, I was catching up on your recent news and journeys. Wow. I look forward to reading more. I do have the find your phone app, yet no guarantees I would find it. My best option was to quickly retrace my steps. Happy I “found” it. Tons of fun to hang out with these ladies! We had been planning this visit for a year. Wish we could see each other more often. The virtual world will have to do for now. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts.🙂

      1. Thanks Erica/Erika, only one post since September 18th(: busyness and stress. But getting ready for a writing vacation and there is one recent post. Looking forward to getting caught up in both reading and writing.

        1. I look forward to catching up reading your post. I only published one in September, too. Real life always takes precedence, as you know, Michele. I am sorry about the stress part. It sounds like a writing and reading vacation is just what you need. xx

  3. That looks like such a great time, Erica. The cell phone story is funny, but I can feel the stress too. Other than that, what a wonderful adventure. I haven’t met up with virtual friends, but I get these pangs of desire to do so. Perhaps when this darn pandemic is over. Thanks for sharing your fun. I love all the smiles. 😀

    1. We had lots of fun, Diana. Easy and comfortable visit. I think I mentioned in previous posts how virtual blogging friends are even better, even more in real life. We have been planning this August visit for a year. Approximately 1 1/2 years ago Donna (Retirement Reflections) and I learned we lived a couple of hours away from each other. We were destined to meet in real life. A huge treat for me. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. I am excited to begin reading Book 2. xx 🙂

  4. A most wonderful recollection of a fun couple of days! I still chuckle when I recall your phone ringing in my car and Joanne and I looking at each other going “Should we answer it? What should we do?!?!?!?” The out of town numbers threw us for a loop. Do not depend on us during an emergency, clearly! 🤣🙄🤣

    1. We did have a ton of fun, Deb. 😊 I am not sure whether just answering the phone would have worked, or did you still need face recognition? It does not matter. I have my phone back! It made for a funny story, and I did almost pee myself laughing when I saw all of you and the phone in the back yard. I look forward to more get togethers in the future.❤️

  5. Erica, I am smiling with every word and photograph. You captured pure joy in this post. I can imagine that the connections were instant, given the personalities present. Prosecco and giggles sound like the perfect way to spend an afternoon – minus the lost/found phone. P.S. the waterfall pics are priceless!

    1. You are right, Suzanne. As soon as we met it was non stop chatter and laughing, the recipe for a great visit. This was my second post on the new editor, so I am still trying to figure out the best way to post photos. I find when I click on some photos, they will not enlarge when published. Some of the captions end up as part of the photo. I will play around more with it. The new editor is doable, just like our hikes. 🙂 Thank you for your kind, supportive comment. I look forward to reading more about your special dates and getaways.

  6. How fun! I knew Joanne had flown out to hook up with Deb, but didn’t realize that you were part of the party!

I’ve had 6 blogging meet-ups with bloggers from Wisconsin, Australia, Missouri, Florida, and DC!

I have never lost my cell phone . . . but I still dream (30+ years after finishing law school) about losing my locker combination when my purse is locked in my locker, with my locker combination AND exam schedule inside it. Right when the exam is starting.

    1. Hi Nancy, We were planning this visit for about a year and grateful we could make it all come together. I had met the other bloggers in the past and it was the first time I met Joanne in real life. Deb’s move to the Island prompted Joanne’s visit. A treat for all of us!❤️

Great for you to meet blogging friends who live far away! I am sure you have some good stories to share. Wow, a major anxiety dream that still occurs for you. The stress of school and exams never seems to leave our psyche. Even from 30 years ago.

    1. I was surprised how much I rely on my phone, Ingrid. Even when it was missing for only that short time. I did not have anyone’s phone number in my brain except for my husband’s. And then I got my husband’s voicemail. I did have a Plan B, C and D. I am glad I did not have to use them. It all made for a funny story. A fun visit! It sounds like you also have had the pleasure of meeting cyber friends in person. 🙂

That would have gladdened my soul in a heart beat. I’ve never met a blogging friend in real life and don’t know if I ever will. Though I would love to of course. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if and when you have a whim to visit SA with a girlfriend plus husbands or solo or with girlfriends, then I’ll welcome you gladly!

    1. Susan, You are right. We had a wonderful time. I was very touched how many people tried to help me. A couple walking across the street from my car, a young family visiting from out of town, the different security guards writing down my information on scraps of paper, people waiting in a bathroom line letting me go ahead to look for my phone, the workers in each of the kiosks and more. I guess I had that frantic, desperate look on me. 🙂

I am not sure what your time frame is like this week, Susan. I just finished listening to a video “Lori” a blogging friend, sent me about an elderly lady losing her purse containing her wallet and cell phone at a Walmart. True story. Her son is reading the letter she sent to him. I am almost crying, laughing so hard. I approved her comment/video on my post.

It was serendipitous how we all met. Do not be surprised if I just show up at your doorstep one day, Susan. xx ❤️

I debated on breaking up this story into two posts. Word count is something we talk about in blog posts. I believe it would have lost the continuity of the story and my message. So glad to finally see photos of Chuck in our adventures. I was ashamed to discover I didn’t have a single one!! Deb and I decided that Chuck makes a perfect addition as a partner in shenanigans. You have a winner there, Erica 💕

When I opened the door to two strangers holding your phone I felt both relief and recognized an opportunity for ribbing. I am so thankful for the widget on my watch that locates my phone. Or doesn’t locate it but makes my phone ring so I can find it!! I use that feature daily.

  22. I think I lose my cell phone on a daily basis, but my lapses of memory are forcing me to be a more mindful, in the moment kind of person who tries to slow down and isn’t always rushing around like a chicken with its head cut off. I have to put everything in the same place, and when I don’t, my husband reminds me “didn’t I tell you to put all your things in one place?” hee hee I was just discussing the fear of losing my phone with a friend the other day when we were at a restaurant and I didn’t know where my phone was (I had left it in the car) and how in modern life we are so dependent on our smart phones. I am hyper aware of this, don’t like it, but have become so reliant on my phone! A blessing and a curse both.

All you gals looked like you had some grand fun and mischief. The photos are stunning and I look forward to reading the other blog entries. I want to know why Joanne wanted to feel your legs and pants !

Maybe one day I’ll make it to Vancouver Island and meet blogging friends IRL. You and Donna have been so supportive of my humble efforts that I feel close to you both. I’ve met Donna IRL but it was so short lived and yet I feel a growing closeness to her, as I do to you. You are both so kind and of course, and it comes through prominently in your writings.

I’m glad you got your phone back, and am also happy you had such wonderful adventures with these great ladies. Thanks for sharing them with all of us.

You are the first person who asked about Joanne feeling my leg and my pants. You may notice in a couple of the photos I am wearing leggings designed and made on the West Coast by local artists and using up plastic bottles. “Nominou”. My sister gave me a pair about three years ago and they are a favourite of mine. I don’t make money on this shout out. I was wearing them and Joanne was curious about the pants. Your gift for awareness and paying attention, Susan.💕 I would love to meet you in real life when the stars align. Thank you for your thoughtful and lovely comment.xx

    1. Thank you for visiting and sharing your comment, Teagan. Especially with your busy schedule and the release of your novella “Hullaba Lulu, a Dieselpunk Adventure.” I did look the title up again. Fun! And, yes, we did have a delightful time.😁

  23. Yes to both of those. 🙂 🙂 The cell phone took a duck dive over the side of a ferry and swam gracefully to the bottom. Oops! And botheration! Meet ups- I’ve done several but only with one blog friend at a time. Great fun, though I’m nervous as a kitten each time. What if they don’t like me? 😦 A thoroughly enjoyable read, Erica. Here’s to more good times.

    1. Oh darn, Jo, on losing the phone on a ferry. Retrieval is impossible and whether the phone would work after being submerged in water. I am so with you, Jo, on the few times I have met a blogger. It feels like a blind date. Yet, each time even more fun than I anticipated. Thanksgiving here this weekend and I am grateful for every day.😊

    1. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts, Mark. I also noticed you kindly shared on Twitter when I was scrolling this morning. I don’t get notifications when my name or website is mentioned. I have tried to fix this and I have done a mini research. One of the answers was to close down my Twitter and restart. Always things to learn. Thank you again and have a great Thanksgiving weekend.

  24. I don’t have a cellphone to lose, but it sounds like a terrible feeling and experience. Probably similar to me losing my camera or wallet… Yes. I have met blogging friends! It’s awesome and I would want a repeat any time. The bunch of you sure had fun. One day, I hope to be a part of that again. 🙂

    1. Liesbet, I heard such wonderful things about you when you had your visit here on the Island. We did have a great time this past August. I hope we can make a visit happen with you, Mark and Maya in the future.😀

  25. Wow! What a wonderful visit. A girls’ weekend complete with prosecco, snacks, and hiking sounds perfect. I have never met any bloggers in real life, but I am glad you had a good time. Losing your cell phone gives you such a sinking feeling, doesn’t it? So glad it was at home when you got there.

    1. Hi Laurie, It is all under the umbrella of synchronicity on how we met and then how we planned a visit. Yes, a great time! The cell phone turned into a funny story. I always wonder how these things can happen. I would have made things work, yet I am surprised how much I rely on my phone. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts.🙂

  26. How great it was for you to meet these ladies, Erica, and your pics are cute, adorable, and beautiful! The dumpster diving had me laughing, but that option also had me wondering what I would do. I think most of us treat our cell phones like another appendage. 🙂 So glad it showed up, though. I have several blogging friends over the 10 years since I began this adventure and we’ve never met, but stayed in contact outside of blogging via phone calls (what a concept), texting, and emailing. I’d love to meet them in person, but for some reason or another, it just hasn’t happened. Never too late, though. Thanks for sharing this fun post. 🥰

    1. Hi Lauren, My mind went in all sorts of directions trying to find my phone. I don’t know whether you have met Lori from Lori’s Lane blog. She sent me a link in her comment of a true story dumpster diving to try to retrieve a phone. If you are in the mood to listen/watch, my husband and I could not stop laughing. We are fortunate how we were able to meet up. Writing is often a solitary sport. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts.🙂

    2. Actually, Lauren, you HAVE met a blogger – ME! Let me say here to Erica, also, that right before Lauren started up her blog again, back in December 2019, she came to hear me give a talk at a Bay Area library. Lauren drove in the driving rain on a cold night to meet me and pay tribute. It was a thrill to meet Lauren. And next time I get to the Bay Area (in a year? the way it’s going?) I hope to do so again. ❤

      1. Oh, Pam, I haven’t forgotten, so why I didn’t mention YOU in my comment is a mystery! Seriously, I must’ve been out of it or having a senior moment. I’m SO sorry because It was great to meet you! Although, driving in the rain at night on the freeway wasn’t fun, but it was worth it! Anyway, let me know when you’re in my neck of the woods again and we’ll make it work for a second time. Erica, now you know our story! 💖

        1. Wow, Lauren, I definitely would have white knuckles driving in the rain at night on the freeway. What fun to meet up. I love reading how paths cross and how friendships easily cross over from virtual to real life.❤️

        2. At the time we met in person, Lauren, you weren’t blogging regularly. We “met” via email through a mutual friend, Judy, who knowing me for years and having just recently gotten to know you, felt that the two of us would want to communicate with each other as writers. I was amazed when I realized that you were the Lauren of Baydreamers!! And if I remember correctly I encouraged you to get back to blogging. So I am taking some credit for the fact that you are out here in the blogosphere with all of us again. 🤗And we love your blog!💖

          1. You make a great point, Pam, so thank you for saving me. 🙂 I felt so bad and a bit dazed as to how I forgot about our meeting. But that’s probably why – I wasn’t blogging at the time, and yes, you kept nudging me to return. I’m more invested now than I had been in a long time…working on many different projects, but most importantly, a children’s book! I’m excited about it even though I’m not sure how it’s all going to turn out. But I think of you often as your books rest comfortably on my book case. So, thanks again for relieving me of any unnecessary anguish 🙂 and for your kind words about my blog. It’s been a fun come-back. 💝

          2. I wholeheartedly agree, Pam, on loving Lauren’s blog. Of course, your blog, too, Pam, and I have told you this before.❤️

I now recall Lauren briefly mentioning how she had met you, Pam, when commenting on “Connections, Chaos and Fun” in the Zoom Room and how we all loved (and still read) “Molly Finds Her Purr.” I was blown away and goosebumpy reading Lauren’s palindrome. I became an immediate fan.❤️

I felt for you losing your phone and worrying about it so I was glad to read it was safe at home when you got there!

    1. You are totally right, Deb, the visit was above and beyond my expectations. Losing my phone turned into a funny story for all of us. I was surprised how much I relied on my phone, even for all of my contact numbers. I look forward to connecting with you again, soon, Deb. Have a great weekend. I hope the get togethers go well.🙂

  28. Great story, and I’m glad it had a happy ending! I’ve never lost my phone for more than a few minutes, but even that causes barely concealed panic; I can only imagine how you must have felt! Tara lost her phone once while we were out exploring remote ATV trails in Nevada. Amazingly, she was able to retrace her steps (err…tires) and managed to find it in the middle of acres of vast nothingness. I’m still amazed by that, many years later.

I’ve not only met many virtual friends, I even married one. 🙂

    1. Amazing how Tara found her phone, Mark. I think acting promptly helps. That is why I became Maxwell Smart plus Sherlock for the first hour when I lost my phone. I am glad it turned into a funny story for the group. I recall you mentioning in the past how you and Tara met. Synchronicity and meant to be.🙂

I’ve met one blog buddy in real life when I was in my husband’s home state for his family reunion. She drove 1.5 hours one way to meet up with me. It was the highlight of the whole trip for me.

    1. Betsy, I don’t know whether they would have found me if they drove back. I was all over the place, walking and in the car. I think they may have been able to answer the phone when it vibrated. All a funny story, since it turned out fine. Wow, highlight of your whole trip meeting your blog buddy. That says a great deal!🙂

  30. It looks like you ladies had a wonderful time. I love to see all the smiles. I could relate to your cell phone story. I left the phone in the pocket of the jacket and there it went into the washer. One time, I thought I lost my cell phone and almost had a heart attack. It was funny when Joanne and Deb found your phone and thought there was no point to call to let you know… They had a reason not to answer when you called. Thank you for sharing all the fun photos. I liked the idea of meeting the blogging friends.

    1. Oh darn, Miriam, the phone going through the washer. I suspect it did not survive. I have met blogging friends a few times now and it has always been tons of fun. Donna and I are lucky we live approximately two hours away from each other. Deb just moved to the Island a few months ago. She is about 1 1/2 hours away. Proximity helps. Have a great weekend. Lots of virtual hugs.🙂

      1. How far are you from Vancouver BC? My nephew and his wife, my niece and her newly wedded husband will move there later. My nephew and niece lived there for 4 or 5 years. After my brother-in-law had a kidney ty, the whole family went back to Hong Kong. But eventually they will return to Canada. I visited them a couple times there.

I would like to meet some bloggers someday. We were going to go to Norway this year and talking meeting two bloggers but plans are changed due to Covid.

        1. Miriam, We are approximately four hours travel time including catching the ferry, or longer depending on ferry waits and Vancouver traffic. We have not been travelling and keeping our bubble very small right now. Likely, most people. Things will change and we will be able to travel again.🙂

    1. Hi Bette, I am thankful I had the opportunity to meet a few blogging friends in real life. Like you say, it is a privilege. I am initially a little nervous about the meeting (a Blind Date) yet, I always have a great time. I also like your phrase “blogging buddies.” Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts.❤️

  32. I wish I wasn’t so darn late reading this. So. Much. Fun. And a good point about not knowing “the whole story” when we see happy photos of get togethers. I could feel your angst in “losing” your cell phone. Who knew 15 years ago that a cell phone would carry parts of our LIFE in it, and be indispensable? But all’s well that end’s well, and I can tell by the stories and the smiles and the jokes amongst you all that you have built friendships for life.

    1. Pam, The other bloggers in our August meet up had posted their version, a part of the story. They left the cell phone version to me and we did have many laughs over it and many laughs in general. I am glad we took this rare opportunity to get together. You are right, friendships for life. Priceless.❤️

  33. Hi Erica, Losing your cell phone is a real panic. It happened to me at a trade show once. The police got involved and I made a new friend. https://tchistorygal.net/2017/02/14/stolen-iphone/ Glad you got your phone back. I love the waterfall pictures. What a joy to meet your virtual friends. They read your thoughts every day and really “get” you. 🙂 Thanks for sharing this great story. I love how you share in bullets. I need to do that instead of being so verbose. 🙂 Wishing we could all meet!!!!

    1. Oh my gosh, Marsha, This is quite the story! My heart was racing the entire time, reading it. Thank you for sharing this.🙂

It was tons of fun meeting up with my virtual friends in real life. I initially planned to publish the story in 2 parts. I try to monitor word count. Yet, I did not think the story would flow as well and lose continuity if I broke it up. Thank you for your kind and supportive words. I hope your move to Prescott is smooth and uneventful. It will be nice when you are settled into your new home.🙂

      1. Why are you monitoring word count on your blog, Erica? People love to read what you write. I don’t think it lost continuity in two parts, though. Thanks for all your kind remarks. 🙂 Who knows, maybe you can meet up with Terri Webster Schrandt after she moves to Washington. She visited me this summer on her way from seeing her family. It was so much fun. And the night she was here was the night I got bit by a raccoon and had to go to emergency for rabies shots at 4:30 am. So that was my Almost Perfect Visit story. 🙂 She thought all my screaming outside at 3:30 am was a coyote. LOL.
